Nature Guardians – Serra da Lousã

1. Walk in the Serra with Viola Campanini and Lousitanea With Raquel and Cátia Lucas
Originally from the Italian Alps, she is a mountain woman at heart and founder of the registered ViolaCoach CARING METHOD, developed over more than 20 years of study and experience. With a background in Environmental Sciences and research in Prehistory across several European countries, she is now a professional trainer and mental coach, working with mountain athletes while also competing at national and international level. This walk begins in the village of Aigra Nova, where you will also meet the “Guardians of Nature” from the Lousitanea association, who have been carrying out important work in the recovery and regeneration of the area, and who will guide you through their projects — from herds of goats and sheep to nurseries of native tree species.

2. Natural Cosmetics Workshop with Inês Avelar
Founder of the brand Miristica, Inês moved from Almada to Serpins and created her project at the age of 21, guided by the belief that nature provides everything we need for body care. In this workshop, participants explore plant-based ingredients and create their own personalised toothpaste and natural deodorant, taking home both the products and a complementary e-book with recipes.

3. Art & Creativity Workshop with Romane Forgue
A trained graphic designer and lifelong craft enthusiast, Romane has deepened her practice in ancestral techniques such as embroidery, watercolour, and natural soap making. Her workshop offers accessible and joyful creative experiences, encouraging reconnection with nature, the group, and oneself.

4. Pottery Workshop at Cerdeira – Home for Creativity
A first hands-on experience with clay and the potter’s wheel in the Schist Village of Cerdeira. This renowned creative hub is known for the quality of its artistic residencies and training programmes, offering an authentic introduction to traditional ceramics.

5. Guided visit to the Cabril do Ceira with Cristina Silva
A local resident and owner of a family-run accommodation nearby, Cristina shares her deep connection to the place through a guided visit focusing on:

• the Cabril do Ceira as a Geomorphological Site of Interest (LIG) of high scientific value
• local archaeological heritage and the history of the Cabril do Ceira levada (water channel)
• memories of the railway tunnel and local history

Accommodation is not included in this experience; however, some of the guardians offer accommodation that can be booked separately. We will be happy to provide further information at the time of booking.
